Rabbi Heshie Billet
Rabbi Heshie Billet was a pulpit Rabbi in the United States for 43 years before retiring to Israel from the Young Israel of Woodmere. In the greater community that he served, he had the opportunity to counsel families with LGBTQ+ loved ones. Together with his close colleague he assisted the local JCC in creating a support group for LGBTQ+ students in Orthodox Yeshivot.
"We have all been created in the image of HASHEM. With this in mind, as a frum community it is our responsibility to provide a safe place for the entire family of an LGTBQ+ individual to turn for advice and discussion about the unique challenges that they must confront as individuals and as families.
